Piano Lessons
- Piano lessons are taught at the Suzuki Lake Oswego studio by Dr. Valdine Ritchie Mishkin, a certified piano teacher by the Royal Conservatory of Music, Toronto (the National Music Certificate Program is the affiliate program in the United States).
- Materials used follow the requirement of the National Music Certificate Program, and students will work towards completing a practical examination.
- A wide range in musical styles is taught, strong technique is developed, sight reading and ear training skills are built.
- Private theory lessons of 15 or 30 minutes are a recommended extension of the lesson time.
- Dr. Mishkin’s focus is to develop the complete musician. The combination of traditional-approach piano lessons and Suzuki Method stringed-instrument lessons will offer the student a deeper understanding of the musical language and provide the most well-rounded musical experience.
